Under the shade of the Sal tree (Sarjom), our culture has flourished for centuries, and "Sarjom Sakam" (Sal Leaf) symbolizes that enduring connection to nature and our ancestors. This blog is being run by the Santali Language and Culture Development Committee, Bangladesh(সাঁওতালি ভাষা ও সংস্কৃতি উন্নয়ন কমিটি,বাংলাদেশ।).

Our Mission

The primary goal of Sarjom Sakam ‍and সাঁওতালি ভাষা ও সংস্কৃতি উন্নয়ন কমিটি,বাংলাদেশ is to provide authentic information about the Santali lifestyle, religion, culture, history, tradition and literature. In an era of globalization, many indigenous traditions are fading away. We aim to document and promote:

• History & Mythology: Exploring the glorious past and origins of the Santal people.

• Language & Literature: Promoting the Santali language (Ol Chiki) through poems, stories, and educational content. To publish and promote important books on the religion, culture, history, tradition and literature of the Santals.

• Culture & Festivals: Detailing our vibrant festivals like Sohrai, Baha, and our unique religious practices.

• Social Awareness: Sharing news and opinions relevant to the Santal community in Bangladesh and beyond.

We are a group of passionate individuals from the Santal community who care deeply about our identity. Our contributors work hard to bring you unique stories, folk tales, and research-based articles that you won't find anywhere else.
